Dr Alexandra (Lexy) Barnes

Dr Lexy Barnes is a GP with a background spanning 17 years in the Royal Navy, giving her extensive experience in primary care, occupational health, and operational medicine across deployments in the Middle East, East Africa, and the United States. She graduated from Peninsula Medical School in 2007 and gained membership to the Royal College of General Practitioners in 2019. She moved into NHS general practice in 2021 and expanded into private medicine in 2024.

Her clinical interests span preventive medicine, cardiovascular health, perimenopause and hormonal health, musculoskeletal conditions, and children’s wellbeing. She also has a particular interest in trauma-informed care and the long-term effects of adverse life experiences on health.

Outside the clinic, Lexy is originally from Cornwall and retains a lifelong connection to the coast. She weight trains, cycles, and plays tennis with her children.
