Our Doctors

Every Coyne Medical GP is trained to see children from birth onwards. Between our 13 doctors, we have seen just about everything, from newborn checks and first-week worries to teenage health and everything in between.

We are also, between us, parents many times over. We know what it is to sit in a waiting room with a fractious toddler, to wonder whether a temperature warrants a call, to want a doctor who will take your concern seriously without making you feel like you are overreacting. That is the appointment we try to give every family who comes through our door.

Our waiting room is stocked with books and toys, and has a chair shaped like a dog that tends to be occupied the moment anyone under four arrives. We try to make the clinic feel like somewhere a child is comfortable, so that by the time they see a doctor, the hard part is already over

What we see children for

Children rarely give much notice. A rash appears on a Sunday evening, a temperature spikes the morning of a school trip, an ear infection that has been brewing for days suddenly becomes urgent. We offer same-day appointments seven days a week, so you are not left waiting for a slot that does not come until Thursday.

Beyond acute illness, our doctors see children for the full range of general practice: respiratory infections, skin conditions, allergies, gut problems, headaches, growing pains, mental health and anxiety, and the kind of vague-but-worrying symptoms that do not fit neatly into a category but deserve proper attention. If your child needs onward referral to a specialist, we will make that happen quickly and stay involved in their care throughout.

Vaccinations

We follow the full UK childhood vaccination schedule, and can also follow international schedules for families from the United States, France, Italy, Switzerland, Australia, and elsewhere. This matters more than it might seem. Gaps or duplications between schedules can have real consequences, and getting it right requires a doctor who knows what they are looking at.

All vaccinations at Coyne Medical are given by a doctor, not a nurse. That means the appointment is also a consultation. If you have questions about a specific vaccine, concerns about timing, or a child who has had a reaction before, there is time to talk it through properly before anything happens.

Child Health and Development checks

Knowing that your child is developing as they should brings a particular kind of reassurance that is hard to find elsewhere. Our child health and wellbeing checks are tailored to your child’s age, covering the aspects of physical and developmental health that matter most at each stage, from growth and motor skills in the early years through to mood, weight, and lifestyle in adolescence.

After every check you receive a written summary by email, covering what was assessed, what was found, and any next steps we recommend. Many of our checks are covered by international health insurers including Cigna. Contact our team if you would like us to check your policy before you book.

In most cases, yes. We offer same-day appointments seven days a week, including Saturdays. If your child needs to be seen urgently, call us and we will do our best to accommodate you the same day.

We see children from birth onwards. All of our GPs are trained and experienced in child health, so whether you have a newborn, a toddler, or a teenager, you will see a doctor who knows what they are looking at.

Yes. We follow the full NHS childhood vaccination schedule and can also administer vaccines according to international schedules for families from the US, France, Italy, Switzerland, Australia, and other countries. All vaccinations are given by a doctor, which means you have time to ask questions in the same appointment.

Your child’s GP will carry out a thorough review tailored to their age, covering growth, development, and any health concerns you want to raise. After the appointment you will receive a written summary by email covering everything that was assessed and any recommendations. Many of these checks are covered by international health insurers.

We work with all the major international health insurers, including Cigna, Bupa Global, and Allianz Worldwide, and in most cases we can bill your insurer directly. Many UK health insurance policies only cover hospital care, so if you are unsure whether your policy covers GP appointments, get in touch before you book and our team will help you find out.

We would encourage all eligible patients to continue their NHS registration. You can keep your NHS and a private GP, and we are happy to share details of your care at any time with your consent.

Yes. If your child needs to see a consultant paediatrician or any other specialist, we will refer them to someone we know and trust. We stay involved throughout, so you are not left navigating the process alone.

Yes. If your child is unwell and you are unable to bring them to the clinic, we can arrange a home visit. Please call us to discuss and we will find the best solution.

We are happy to provide consultations by phone or video to patients located within the United Kingdom. We can safely manage many conditions and can arrange home delivery of medications or test kits.

For our local patients, we have the advantage of being able to see patients for a home visit or bring them in for a follow-up in-clinic appointment too.

A face-to-face consultation with one of our experienced GPs costs £180. We also offer membership options for patients who may need to visit frequently. Find out more here »
